About us



Joe Goodwin is a professional stained glass artist. He qualified with a BTEC HND in Architectural Stained Glass in Swansea at the renowned architectural glass department of the University of Wales, Trinity St David in 1998. Joe went on to sucessfully complete a comprehensive traineeship at The York Glaziers Trust, responsible for the preservation and restoration of the stained glass of York Minster, which houses Europes largest single collection of Medieval glass.

During Joe's time as both a trainee and a fully qualified glazier at the York Glaziers Trust, in addition to restoring York Minsters glass, he worked on major medieval and 17th century glazing schemes in the colleges of Oxford university. Joe has also worked as a glazier at Barley studio, and as a master glazier at York's principle independant stained glass studio Martin Johnson & co, restoring historical glass and creating new commissions.

 

Joe established his own stained glass studio at York in 2004 and works on both domestic and ecclesiastic projects, creating new commissions and conserving & restoring glass, he also works in collaberation with other stained glass studios as a freelance craftsman & artist.
