We specialise in the conservation and restoration of historic stained glass, sympathetically returning ecclesiastical and secular windows to thier former glory, adhering to the CVMA (Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi) guidelines. We employing traditional techniques of glass painting & staining, sympathetically replacing badly damaged and missing glass, to restore both large and small scale windows. We conserve damaged glass using reversable resin edge bonding techniques and carefully clean glass using non invasive methods.
Window condition reports and Surveys
We carry out glazing surveys and produce detailed and comprehensive window condition reports. From surveying individual windows to entire glazing schemes, each report expertly asseses the integrity and condition of the windows and provides practical recommendations which can be used for restoration and conservation work specifications, and can be a useful guide in the application process for grant funding.
